Fucking Hateful, So Very Fucking Hateful...

Just when I thought there was nothing more to hate about this fucking
place, along comes fucking Mister Investigator to fucking interrogate
me about events pertaining to June 23. If only I were the human black
box I'd probably remember every single fucking detail of what happened
then. But then who would even fucking bother or want to fucking
remember what happened thirty one fucking days ago? A backgrounder on
the events pertaining to June fucking 23. Some account fucking
executive brings her own fucking laptop computer to the fucking office.
Same account fucking executive last sees said fucking laptop on that
same fucking day. On 26 fucking June, same account fucking executive
reports her fucking laptop computer missing. Apparently, yours truly
swiped out of the fucking office around past 7 PM on the night of the
23rd and comes back in around past 10 PM and swipes out around 7 AM the
morning of the 24th. Now where did yours truly go around 7 PM? Probably
go out and have dinner with a special someone. Now yours truly probably
had a deadline that night so he goes back to the fucking office to
work. Conveniently, that's the night Miss idiotic fucking account
executive loses her friggin' laptop computer. Now Mister fucking
Investigator wants me to undergo a fucking lie detector test which is a
fucking medieval method for finding out liars. The humiliation! Not
only do i NOT get RESPECT but I don't get paid enough for the blood and
sweat that I poured out for this fucking company. I'm still bleeding
for it and this is what I fucking get? I can't even begin to relate my
hate for Miss fucking account executive for bringing that friggin'
laptop computer to the office in the first place and actually lose it.
Now it's not even proven yet that the fucking laptop computer was
stolen at all. For all I know fucking Ms. Account executive probably
lost the fucking thing somewhere. But then it would be idiotic for
someone to lose or leave a freakin' laptop computer anywhere, would it?
Now I don't fucking care if fucking Mr. Boss reads my fucking blog, I
could fucking put in it whatever I fucking want. This fucking blog
probably gets more hits than their fucking company site. Hateful
company, so fucking hateful!

  3. Isn't it a basic rule that the burden of proof lies on the accuser?

If all the person has is your time-out, that's flimsy at best. Tell them to get a warrant or something before they subject you to any tests. Unless they can build a SOLID case against you, they've got nothing.

Janet can help you on matters like this.

  4. I haven't been accused yet but the fact that i'm included as a suspect insults me.

  7. I'm against lie detector tests myself. They're crude, inaccurate, and inadmissible in court. IMHO, you're right to say no, Dar. Joel is right. What they have is flimsy. Besides, you have been from the start entrusted with so much more valuable equipment than a mere laptop. After all these years, they should know and trust you by now! Baka naman kasi ang investigator lang ang may pakana ng detector tests na 'yan. It is, after all, his job to be suspicious of everyone.

  8. I don't really know if the friggin' cop was serious about that lie detector test thing or if he was just playing me for stupid. It's just irritating to be interrogated by sherlock hemlock (even if it is his job) feeling like he's the most brilliant detective in the world and knowing for a fact that YOU are way smarter than he is. :-D

  9. I read this on your other blog. Sad, Dar, so sad. Left me speechless and shaking my head. (Which I'm doing again now)

  10. There isn't much difference --in my parents' books-- between losing a laptop at knifepoint and losing a laptop the way f.a.e. seems to have done: both events are born of a person's negligence. So say mom and pop.

No, I can't even conceive of you as being a laptop thief. You may be made to look as if you had means and opportunity, but the most damning element is missing. What possible motive could you have for snatching away someone's laptop in the first place? Jeez.

And it is irritating to be singled out and grilled that way. I'm sorry you had to endure that.

  12. In all fairness to Hinge Inquirer, you haven't been singled out. There is no direct persecution and prosecution of you; there are several others being questioned, all of them, like yourself, seen in the office surveillance video taken during the period where the theft took place. This includes your co-workers Eva Gubat and several others whose characters are beyond reproach, but strangely, I haven't heard a peep from them. If you weren't in the video, you wouldn't be in investigation. If I happened to be there at that time, I'd be investigated too - the difference would be that I wouldn't take it personally.

Secondarily, you've just been requested to take a polygraph test, which is entirely voluntary; you can refuse it. It's just a matter of HR company policy under Lexmedia; when something like this happens, an investigation will be held, and requesting those under investigation to undergo a polygraph test to rule them out as suspects. You haven't even undergone anything outside of an interview and request for a polygraph, and you're making it appear that you've been through hell already.

In case you don't know, your "f****** Mr. Boss" was vigorously and adamantly defending you, your person and your character in front of the investigators, and told them you wouldn't do anything like that. But the investigators insisted on doing it as standard operating procedure and that they are only implementing company policy, so our hands are tied.

Of course you understand that this investigation is a formality and part of the process of elimination, and no one in the office actually would seriously believe that you would steal a laptop. The real suspect is there and being watched closely, but of course to be fair anyone who would be circumstantially implicated have to be investigated as well. Aside from you, there are nine or ten others being investigated equally, but you are the only one with this vocal and public reaction.

Normally I would take you aside privately and talk to you about this, but since you took it to a very public forum, then I have no compunctions about replying in this forum as well, so that all the people who have read your blog entry would be given the full picture.

You give our company a very bad image with this post, and it's highly unfair and one-sided. I understand that you have many long-standing personal and professional issues with the company, but of course I wouldn't do you the disservice and disrespect of bringing them up here, as you have so blithely brought up this particular issue of yours in public. My problem is that all your many blog readers, according to you more in number than visitors to our own company's sites, all think by now we're running a fly-by-night monkey operation, which is certainly not the case. My problem is also you have impugned the characters of other people in the company, like "Miss idiotic fucking account executive", who you've accused of many horrible things you have no business accusing of. Funny, it's exactly what you are saying the company is doing to you. I'm sure any future employer of yours will not appreciate being treated this way.

It's just unfortunate that you're gung-ho on making this as public as you can, even to the extent of cross-posting this in your other sites. I don't know where this will go, but I'm just saddened and disappointed you had to do this rather than just bring it up with your co-workers and superiors in the office.
