Avenue Q

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other
Not really an eye opener cause this musical states pretty much the obvious, i.e. "It Sucks to be Me," "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist," "The Internet Is For Porn," "You Can Be as Loud as the Hell You Want (When You're Makin' Love)," "Schadenfreude," but the "Sesame Street-y" presentation puts the message in a whole new light. You'll love it even if you'e not really a fan of musicals. :D

Great performances from Rachel Alejandro, Aiza Seguerra and the whole cast. :)

I hate to think...

... that I'm a slave to the machine. These things are supposed to be the tools I use for work. But I sometimes think these things are the ones that are running me. I think I need to disconnect and restart. *sigh*

Category:   Other/General

Heads up for south of Manila-based designers!

A former colleague of mine is now working for Goodyear Philippines and they have an opening for a Senior Graphic Designer. Their office is located along the Alabang-Zapote road. I gather that remuneration packages are negotiable and is based on your knowledge and experience (which, I suppose, ain't bad since they're a multinational company). Interested parties may send their CVs via email to cynthia_arciga@goodyear.com and ron_castro@goodyear.com. Goodluck!

On my way home...

It's still around 3 hours till my flight back to Manila starts boarding. Killing time here at Changi Airport, Singapore. Be back in a few hours. :)

Likewise...

...I also have a thing for girls and pianos. Marié Digby again on the piano with her version of "Love Hurts" by Incubus.

I don't know if it's just me...

...but I have this thing for girls with guitars (pretty ones at that, and who know how to play it). Can you blame me?  I didn't know her at all except for now. For those who don't know her, meet Marié (read Ma·reeh·ey) Digby with her version of Rihanna's "Umbrella.".

Beijing, China - Day 1

05 April 2007. We arrived at Beijing airport a little after noon. We were part of a tour group and it didn't take too long to assemble the group and soon we were on our tour bus. I guess it helped that the tour operator had some form of organization.

First stop, lunch. We were taken to a Peking duck place where we were taught how to eat the delicacy. Then we were on our way to the Temple of Heaven. Lots of walking on this one. Ancient Chinese royalty were very much into taking in the land as far as the eye can see and they had to walk all of it. They should've invented some ancient "golf cart" to take them about their palaces and temples. After all the walking, the group went to the Kungfu Theater to watch a Chinese acrobatics show with hat jugglers, parasol twirlers, rope spinners, ring jumpers and bicyclists. The group then wound down for some dinner in another Chinese restaurant where I got to try their beer. Captions to follow.

North Korea Nukes The Moon?

I came across this one just this morning. I was doubting the authenticity of this one and figured it might've come from some hoax site or Yahoo! News actually has a place for "made up" news. So I tried checking other more "legitimate" sources and nothing came up with regards to the purported N. Korean Moon nuking. Pure madness if any of this is true. Real scary.
